Marty's Plan to Simplify Regulations

It takes ninety separate volumes to list all of the Michigan Compiled Laws (MCL). The laws tell you how to run every aspect of your business and your life. Excessive regulations cost millions in red-tape and the need for additional lawyers. If that wasn't bad enough, there are thousands of bureaucrats, who inspect, license, fine and otherwise regulate your businesses and personal lives every day. They also reduce our competitiveness by destroying the creative spark.

Each regulation and law should be looked at closely before it is passed to determine how it impacts job growth. Existing laws should be revamped and reformed with that in mind. An ongoing project of our office is to identify excessive regulations and repeal or simplify them. If you know of a regulation that interferes with your life or your business, my office will investigate it and look at logical ways to reform it.
